Movie Night: Painters Painting

For the summer series of Movie Night, we'll be showing documentaries that deconstruct how we consider and look at art, whether it's influenced from artists directly (Painters Painting), the socioeconomic and gendered nature of the world (John Berger's Ways of Seeing), or from the unreliable nature of authenticity (F for Fake).

Painters Painting, directed by Emilie De Antonio, interviews a range of postwar artists in New York from 1940 -1970, whom discuss their craft, their history, and the development of the identity of American art. Artists include: Robert Rauschenberg, William de Kooning, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Helen Frankenthaler, Frank Stella, Barnett Newman, Hans Hoffman, Jules Olitski, Philip Pavia, Larry Poons, Robert Motherwell, and Kenneth Noland.

Please join us at 7 pm on June 16th!
