The Tyler School of Art Summer Painting and Sculpture Intensive (SPI/SSI) is pleased to announce its 2017 Summer Group Show, titled “ETC….” This exhibition is the culmination of the seven-week program and features work made during that time. Tyler is pleased to partner with the artist cooperative New Boone, which is hosting the show at its exhibition space. Opening reception is TONIGHT July 18th 6-8PM | Please join us!

😛😝RESCHEDULED FOR JULY 5!!😛😝Our second Summer Reading Discussion is tonight at 7!!! Come by, and please know that even if you did not read the text it is not necessary! We are featuring the work of #FionaAckerman in this post since she did a series of paintings influenced by Foucault's "of Other Spaces: Utopias and Heterotopias." This painting is called A Vocation by the Sea, 2011

"In our reading this thursday, Foucault uses the garden as an example of a heterotopia. A heteropopia is a space that functions in non-hegemonic conditions, and we will discuss the expanse of such a space in our personal lives as well as in our city, and perhaps wider. No reading absolutely necessary, just bring your self 💖🙃💖🙂
